UAE urges immediate end to Sudan war.
According to the website “Sadi Al-Balad”, Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the president of the UAE, said that the civil war in Sudan must stop immediately, and the perpetrators of the tragedies and crimes must be held accountable. He considered the threat to Sudan’s national unity and the return of the influence of the Brotherhood movement to be very worrying, and stressed the need to immediately send humanitarian aid and form an independent civilian government in the country.
These statements come at a time when the humanitarian crisis in Sudan is escalating. The Sudanese Doctors Network reported today that 23 children in the cities of “Al-Daling” and “Kadoqli” have died of malnutrition in the past month.
Meanwhile, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, announced in a speech in the White Nile state that the army will continue to fight the rebel militias, and there is no turning back.
According to reports, areas of western Sudan, including the state of “Kordofan”, are witnessing an escalation of widespread clashes between the Sudanese army and the so-called “Rapid Support Forces”. Reports indicate that the army has made significant progress in several operational axes in “North Kordofan”, and the clashes are still experiencing one of their most intense stages.
According to IRNA, the “Rapid Support Forces” militias in Sudan announced on Thursday, November 5, after 11 days of widespread crimes against civilians in the city of Fasher and other areas of western Sudan, they agreed to the ceasefire proposal of the Quadrilateral Committee, but the clashes continue and the Sudanese government emphasizes the need for the militias to withdraw from urban areas and release the kidnapped people. These militias, who had besieged the city of Fasher, the capital of the state of “North Darfur” for more than a year, seized the city on Sunday, November 25, and, according to reports, committed widespread crimes against civilians.
Militant attacks on Fasher intensified after talks in Washington. The Middle East Eye, citing diplomatic sources, wrote that the UAE representative at the ceasefire talks in Washington on Friday, November 19, ruled out any talk of Fasher. By failing the Washington talks and giving the White House a green light to the rebels to “rapidly support” them to carry out crimes and genocide for their own political and military goals, the UAE has created the ground for escalating humanitarian disasters with the tacit support of the US government.
