UAE wants to build a military base for Israel on the Saudi border, according to Arab sources.

The Yemeni website Al-Masa Press wrote that recently, some Saudi channels and pages in cyberspace published news about the United Arab Emirates’ intention to establish a new military base in the “Arada” region (located near its borders with Saudi Arabia).

According to the announcements of these Saudi channels and pages, this military base will be established for Israeli soldiers and will probably accommodate more than 800 Zionist soldiers, which will strengthen Israel’s military presence in the region.

The media considered this step to strengthen military cooperation between the Emirates and Israel, especially after the signing of the normalization agreement between the parties in 2020, and announced that this new base will have advanced infrastructure, including residential facilities, training centers, and centers to support military operations.

Observers believe that this project will have great consequences for regional stability, especially given the current tensions in the Persian Gulf region and the Middle East.

In addition, some consider the establishment of this base as part of the UAE’s broader strategy to expand its military capabilities and cooperate with the Zionist regime in line with regional and international interests.

It is worth noting that the UAE normalized its relations with the Zionist regime in September 2020 in accordance with the Abraham Accords. Since then, the two sides have strengthened their economic and political relations.

This comes as the crisis between the UAE and Saudi Arabia has intensified in connection with developments in Yemen, meaning that the UAE announced that it would withdraw its remaining forces from Yemen after Riyadh’s airstrike on the port of Mukalla and increased tensions with Saudi Arabia.

The recent crisis intensified after the Saudi-led coalition carried out an airstrike on the port of Mukalla in southern Yemen. Saudi Arabia claims that the attack targeted a shipment of weapons linked to the UAE. In contrast, the UAE stated that the shipment did not carry weapons and was sent for the use of its own forces in Yemen.
