UAE’s attempts to establish an Israeli base near the Saudi Arabian border.

The Shahab News Agency wrote in an article titled “The Emirates and Israel on the Borders of Saudi Arabia”: Some Saudi channels and networks revealed on social media that the Emirates is planning to build a military base in the “Arada” region near the Saudi border that can accommodate 800 Israeli soldiers.

The source continued: This decision by the UAE was made following a joint security and military agreement with Israel and after Israel’s aggression and genocide in Gaza.

Shahab added: The news of the UAE’s decision to build this Israeli military base in Arada comes in the wake of the unprecedented tension in the country’s relations with Saudi Arabia, which reflects developments in regional alliances and in light of Abu Dhabi’s tendency to potentially normalize relations with Israel and expand relations with it.

The source added that in these circumstances, one must ask how far the UAE will go in its relations with Israel.

Israel seeks to dominate the region’s sea passages

Also, Al-Mahriya satellite network, referring to the UAE’s approach to allying with Israel, announced that this move will push Saudi Arabia towards redrawing its regional policy.

According to this source, the geography of regional alliances from Egypt, Turkey, Sudan, and Somalia is changing, and the region today faces a new alliance, the cause of which is Israel’s excesses, which is trying to create tension and chaos in the region and take control of the sea passages from Bab al-Mandab to the Euphrates.

The network continued its report by adding: In the face of the UAE and Israel’s rapprochement, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey are now in the same line, and Riyadh is seeking to form a new alliance to confront Israel and the UAE and redraw its regional influence.

These developments come while yesterday, the Yemeni website Al-Masa Press wrote that some Saudi channels and pages in cyberspace had previously published news about the UAE’s intention to establish a new military base in the Arada region (located near its borders with Saudi Arabia).

The media considered this step to strengthen military cooperation between the UAE and Israel, especially after the signing of the normalization agreement between the parties in 2020, and announced that this new base will have advanced infrastructure, including residential facilities, training centers, and support centers for military operations.

It is worth noting that the UAE normalized its relations with the Zionist regime in September 2020 (Shahriyah 1399). Since then, the two sides have strengthened their economic and political relations.

This comes while the crisis between the UAE and Saudi Arabia has intensified in relation to the developments in Yemen, meaning that the UAE announced that it would withdraw its remaining forces from Yemen after Riyadh’s airstrike on the port of Mukalla and increased tensions with Saudi Arabia.

The recent crisis escalated after a Saudi-led coalition carried out an airstrike on the port of Mukalla in southern Yemen. Saudi Arabia claims the attack targeted a shipment of weapons linked to the UAE. The UAE, in turn, said the shipment was not carrying weapons and was sent for the use of its own forces in Yemen.
