PNN – A member of one of Iraq’s political coalitions has revealed a UAE plan to create an autonomous Anbar region with the support of the United States and Israeli-linked bodies.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Maalomah, Ahmad Faraj al-Dulaimi of the Sovereignty Coalition said the UAE and other countries have pledged to cover the costs of conferences supporting the establishment of an Anbar region, coordinated with pro-Israeli organizations reportedly based in Erbil.

He added that the UAE has informed Iraqi opposition figures it will finance the effort, offering large sums to those who, in coordination with Kurdistan Region officials, push the project forward.

Al-Dulaimi said the United States and Israeli-linked institutions also back the plan. He said the UAE has held secret talks with political and tribal figures to boost their activities toward creating an Anbar region and to hold supporting meetings in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Jordan and Turkey — and that such meetings have already taken place in those areas.
