Last week, the Israeli regime carried out one of its most extensive airstrikes on Syria, targeting five regions of the country; attacks that, according to the Syrian interim government, resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of people and the complete destruction of Hama airport.
According to field sources, a number of members of the armed group known as “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” and several Turkish forces were killed during these attacks. After this attack, armed clashes were reported between the people of Daraa province in southern Syria and the Israeli military, during which at least 10 people were killed and 20 were injured.
The UN envoy for Syria condemned the Israeli regime’s attacks against the country and called on the regime to stop these attacks.
Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad in late 2024, the Israeli military has carried out hundreds of airstrikes against Syria, bombing the country’s military installations and naval and air bases with the aim of preventing the new Syrian rulers from gaining control of the former army’s arsenal.
Israeli army soldiers have also occupied another part of the Syrian Golan Heights.
