UN General Assembly passes resolution against Zionist regime.
According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli parliament (Knesset) has passed a bill to ban the Palestinian refugee relief and employment agency, An Rawa, to pressure the Palestinians. This issue has been met with negative international reactions from various countries.
Accordingly, the UN General Assembly has passed a resolution opposing the illegalization of An Rawa’s activities in the occupied territories.
This resolution, which was approved by the General Assembly with the agreement of 137 countries, has requested that the International Court of Justice (The Hague Court) provide its advisory opinion on the approval of the bill in the Israeli parliament to outlaw An Rawa’s activities.
The United States and its allies do not have veto power in the UN General Assembly. However, resolutions passed in the General Assembly are not considered binding, unlike the Security Council.
However, this resolution creates a new legal burden against the Israeli regime’s decisions against the Palestinians. Tel Aviv has consistently violated international law and is currently committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Therefore, regardless of the International Court of Justice’s opinion on its activities, the Zionist regime is unlikely to pay any attention to this issue.
Two other resolutions were also adopted by the UN General Assembly against the Zionist regime. In one of these resolutions, Israel was criticized for its abuse of Palestinian natural resources, which was adopted by 162 votes in favor.
In the third resolution, the Zionist regime was also asked to accept responsibility for the oil spill from Lebanese oil storage tanks that were targeted by the regime in the 2006 war and to pay compensation for it. This resolution was also adopted by 167 votes in favor.
