UN: More than one million Syrians displaced in past two weeks.

According to Al-Mayadeen, the UN Humanitarian Office reported that since the outbreak of violence in Syria on November 27, more than 1.1 million people have been displaced in different parts of the country, most of whom are women and children.

The UN statement added that about 640,000 people have fled Aleppo province, and about 334,000 residents of Idlib and 136,000 residents of Hama have also been displaced.

The terrorist group Tahrir al-Sham, along with several other armed groups, has been preparing a massive attack against Syrian government positions in various provinces of the country since November 27 and, with its rapid advance, managed to capture Damascus on December 8. These groups, having taken control of the governing institutions in Syria, introduced Mohammed al-Bashir as the head of the interim government, which will be in office until the end of March 2025.
