UN official: I have been threatened many times for my positions against Israel.
Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of Palestine, revealed in an interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher that she has been threatened many times due to her positions against the war in Gaza and her statements against Israel, which she said was committing genocide.
She also described the video released by Donald Trump about Gaza as “disgusting”.
Albanese emphasized that: “We must confront the stupid ideas about the deportation and forced displacement of the people of Gaza.”
She said that the Trump administration has deliberately waged psychological warfare against Gaza.
Albanese also called Israel’s actions in suppressing critics of the war on Gaza “horrible and unacceptable.”
Trump recently posted an artificial intelligence- generated video on his social network “Truth Social” that shows Gaza as a luxury and tourist city.
The video first shows scenes of children running away from the ruins of Gaza and then shows Gaza with high-rise buildings, luxury cars, and a sign reading “Trump Gaza.”
Trump is seen having fun in the video, while Elon Musk is seen eating local food and throwing money in the air.
Trump’s plan to occupy Gaza after deporting the Palestinian people was first discussed at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on February 4.
Since January 25, Trump has been promoting a plan to deport the people of Gaza to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan, but this plan has met with strong opposition from these countries, other Arab countries, and international organizations.
