PNN – UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric warned that thousands of Palestinian patients are still “deprived of access to treatment and recovery opportunities” due to Israeli bombing of medical facilities and hospitals.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, a UN spokesperson told reporters on Tuesday local time that the Burij Health Center in Deir el-Balah province in the central Gaza Strip has resumed operations after months of closure.

He told reporters: The center now offers primary health care, maternal health services, laboratory tests, and dental care.

Dujarric also warned that thousands of Palestinian patients are still “deprived of access to treatment and recovery opportunities” because Israeli bombings have destroyed much of the Gaza Strip’s healthcare network.

He added that Israel continues to block shipments of vital medicines and medical equipment, along with other humanitarian items, from reaching Gaza.

The UN spokesperson continued: This will require the provision of more medical equipment, including items that are difficult for Israeli authorities to obtain entry permits for, such as radiology machines and laboratory equipment.

Previously, the director of the pharmaceutical department of the Gaza Ministry of Health presented shocking statistics in a new report on the dire state of the healthcare sector, announcing that the health crisis is not limited to laboratories, but that pharmaceutical stocks and medical supplies have been severely reduced.

According to him, more than 46 percent of the list of essential medicines is currently completely out of stock.
