UNIFIL: Israeli tank shooting killed Reuters reporter

PNN – The United Nations peacekeeping forces stationed in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced that a 37-year-old Reuters reporter was killed by a tank fire from the Zionist regime.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing al-Mayadeen, UNIFIL announced that Essam Abdullah, a Lebanese Reuters reporter, was killed by two 120 mm bullets from an Israeli tank on October 13.

According to the results of UNIFIL’s investigation, an Israeli tank fired at a group that was clearly journalists, and this journalist was killed.

This investigation also shows that, 40 minutes before the Israeli tank fired at the journalists’ location, no exchange of fire or conflict was recorded in this part of the border strip.

UNIFIL announced: According to Security Council Resolution 1701, shooting at civilians and especially journalists whose identities are completely recognizable is a violation of international law and our assessment proves that there was no conflict on the blue line at the time of this incident and the reason is unclear.

Meanwhile, two knowledgeable sources told Reuters that the UNIFIL investigation report was sent to the United Nations headquarters in New York on February 28, and a copy of it was also given to the Lebanese army and the Zionist regime.

Not long ago, Qatar’s Minister of International Cooperation, Lulu Al-Khater, expressed his regret over the actions of the Zionist regime’s military in targeting journalists and said: Israel has set a record in targeting journalists and killing them.
