Unit 8200; A spy agency a legitimate target of the resistance.
The Arbaeen operation was carried out on the day of Hosseini’s Arbaeen by the Lebanese Hezbollah against targets in the occupied territories and response to the assassination of Fouad Shekar, one of the commanders of the Lebanese Hezbollah. Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, in explaining the Arbaeen operation, stated that the 8,200 units were among the targets of this operation. This article briefly provides information about the nature of the 8200 unit, some of its actions, as well as resistance actions against it.
A brief introduction to the 8200 unit
Unit 8200 is a subdivision of “Aman” (Israeli military intelligence organization). This unit is responsible for the mission of eavesdropping, deciphering computer codes, war, and cyber defense, creating all kinds of malware, and everything possible in the field of espionage and gathering information or attacking other countries using technical equipment. It is said that the 8200 unit has about 5000 manpower. Most of the members of this organization are very young and usually 16 to 21 years old. Israeli Arabs are also present in the 8200 unit. Unit 8200 is the Israeli equivalent of the US National Security Agency (NSA). Unit 8200 is one of the three departments of the Military Intelligence Department. Units 8200, 9900, and 504 are the three main units that make up this department. Unit 8200 is the largest unit of this department and serves as the main intelligence-gathering unit for the Military Intelligence Department.
