UNRWA: Gazans search for food under heavy shelling.

According to the Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed news agency, the UNRWA agency narrated the words of a Palestinian who survived the Israeli army’s shooting at a line of people waiting to receive aid at an American-Zionist aid distribution center in the southern Gaza Strip, how they were forced to crawl and run under the fire of Israeli soldiers to get food.

In a statement on its social media account, UNRWA said: “Hungry people in the Gaza Strip have been forced to endure heavy fire and shelling in an attempt to provide food for their families, risking their lives to get something.”

The UN agency added: “We must return to the old way of delivering aid safely and on a large scale to all residents of the Gaza Strip, and this will not be achieved except through the UN and UNRWA. We spoke to survivors of the bloody Israeli-American aid distribution process in Gaza.”

UNRWA republished the account of one survivor who went to the American-Zionist aid distribution center in the Rafah area in the southern Gaza Strip, quoting him as saying: “We set off towards the aid distribution center in the morning and waited for the signal from the occupying army to move. We witnessed continuous shooting. We were rolling and crawling on the ground for more than an hour. When the shooting stopped, people started running, but they were shot again, and many were injured while running. I had never seen a scene like this before.
