PNN – An American analyst did not consider the mineral agreement between Ukraine and the United States to guarantee Kiev’s security against Russia.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Donald Jensen, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies at Johns Hopkins University, noted in an interview with Al Jazeera: The recent mineral agreement between Ukraine and the United States provides no security guarantees for Kyiv.
According to him, the Trump administration has prioritized restoring trade relations with Moscow over resolving the Ukraine crisis, a move that faces opposition from most Americans.

This American analyst also said about Russia’s view of the negotiations: Moscow sees the recent negotiations not as a win-win situation, but as an opportunity to realize its own desires.
The minerals agreement, which was concluded under the auspices of the previous US administration, aimed to strengthen cooperation between the parties in the extraction of vital minerals (such as lithium and nickel) for Ukraine’s defense and technology industries.
Some Republican senators in the US Congress believe the deal gave too many concessions to Ukraine. Trump and his allies want to revise the agreement, prioritizing American trade interests.
