PNN – Reuters news agency, citing several informed sources, reported that the United States and the Israeli regime are in talks to form an interim government in Gaza after the end of the war.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Zionist newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the United States and the Israeli regime discussed the possibility of forming an interim government in the Gaza Strip after the end of the war.
According to the news, which was published by Reuters, citing five informed sources, after the end of the war, an interim government will be formed in Gaza under the leadership of an American official. This American official will also oversee all affairs in the Gaza Strip until it is demilitarized and a “Palestinian state” is established there.
According to Yedioth Aharonot, initial negotiations between the United States and the Israeli regime did not address the duration of the interim American government in Gaza, and this issue depends on the situation on the ground.
Reuters reported that informed sources compared the proposal to the “Iraqi Interim Government” that was formed in 2003 after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. However, many Iraqis viewed that authority as an occupying force until it handed over control to the Iraqi government.
More countries will be invited to join the Gaza government, the sources told Reuters. The interim government would be run by Palestinian technocrats, but would not include Hamas or the Palestinian Authority, they said.
The sources clarified that the results of the negotiations are not yet clear and discussions have not progressed at this time, particularly on who will take on key roles.

The US State Department responded to the report by saying: We want peace and the immediate release of prisoners. We stand with Israel and support peace. However, the Hamas movement rejected this idea, saying that the Palestinian people should choose their own rulers.
According to Yedioth Aharonot, Reuters wrote that the US government’s presence in Gaza will further embroil the United States in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In this regard, two sources familiar with the details said that given the strong backlash in the Middle East against this action, both from US allies and from the other side, it would pose a significant risk to US interests.
Reuters also reported that the United Arab Emirates has proposed to the Israeli regime and the United States to form an “international coalition” that would oversee the government that would be formed in Gaza after the war ends.
According to the report, the UAE set an important condition for its participation as a mediator, saying that the Palestinian Authority must participate in the coalition, which will also work to establish a “Palestinian state.”
However, the UAE Foreign Ministry did not respond to Reuters’ question about their support for the United States.
The report emphasizes that Israeli officials, especially Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have strongly rejected the possibility of the Palestinian Authority participating in the management of the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu has also opposed the formation of a “Palestinian state.”
Netanyahu also added that he has always supported US President Donald Trump’s plan to evacuate Gaza residents and has held talks on the matter with several countries.
However, Reuters has reported that Israeli officials are considering proposals that do not involve a mass withdrawal of Palestinians from Gaza.
In this regard, according to foreign diplomats and former Israeli officials familiar with the details, options for establishing defined security zones and establishing permanent bases in the Gaza Strip are also being considered.
