US and Israel’s conspiracy against armed Lebanese resistance.

The dangerous and unnational move by the Lebanese government to approve the decision to disarm the resistance, given the country’s history of helplessness in the face of external and even internal threats, has caused many to warn about the catastrophic consequences of such a decision.

In this regard, Al-Mayadeen Network has examined the history of Lebanon’s failures and its vulnerability before the emergence of the resistance in an article, the text of which is as follows:

In addition to Palestine, especially Gaza, Lebanon, after the emergence of the resistance, has always been a vital link in the anti-occupation resistance and Zionist projects in the region, including the normalization of Arab relations with the occupiers, the alliance of imperialist-Zionist circles, the plunder of the region’s energy reserves, and other destructive conspiracies of the American-Zionist axis. Accordingly, this axis has not hesitated to plot any plot to weaken and destroy the resistance in Lebanon over the past decades, whether at the level of internal sedition or foreign aggression.

The Illusion of Expanding Sovereignty by Disarming the Resistance

Before addressing the general situation in Lebanon and its history, it is quite clear that one of the contradictions regarding the Lebanese government’s decision to disarm the resistance while claiming to expand the government’s sovereignty over the country is that if such a decision is implemented, there will be practically no sovereignty left for Lebanon for the government to take over. Today, all the projects being discussed in Lebanon are foreign plans by well-known international regional parties, especially the United States and some Arab countries, who are trying to repeat history for Lebanon and impose a new international mandate on it.

Anyone familiar with the developments in the region from the beginning, especially since the beginning of the Zionist regime’s occupation of Palestine and its aggressions against Arab countries, knows very well that before the emergence of the resistance in Lebanon, the country lacked an army capable of deterring and confronting the threats of the Zionist enemy, and Lebanon does not have a strong army now, because the Lebanese army is actually surrounded by the United States and Washington does not allow it to be armed. For this reason, the Lebanese army’s weapons do not provide even the minimum deterrence for this country and consist of a set of light weapons that lack effectiveness and efficiency.
