Al-Monitor reported that the United States has proposed a draft resolution to Britain and France that would remove the names of al-Julani and his interior minister, Anas Khattab, from the UN sanctions list, which was imposed on al-Qaeda and ISIS in the context of combating terrorism.

US President Trump had previously announced the lifting of sanctions imposed by the country against Golani for supporting his terrorist regime.

Informed sources said that in the initial version, the United States mentioned the name of the terrorist organization Tahrir al-Sham, but after anticipating that countries such as China would object to this, it plans to pursue this issue through the UN Sanctions Commission, which operates in secret.
