He asked government officials and prosecutors in Venezuela to document the widespread human rights violations in the American operation and directly called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to take action.
The Attorney General of Venezuela said: I ask the United Nations at this moment to speak out. Where are the international human rights institutions to react to this cowardly operation which has taken the lives of the innocent and kidnapped the President and his wife?
Caracas has stated that the goal of Washington’s actions is to establish a puppet government and gain control over Venezuela’s oil resources.
Various countries have declared the U.S. action in kidnapping Maduro as a violation of the territorial sovereignty, integrity, and independence of a United Nations member state.
