PNN – After Pakistani protesters attacked the US consulate, Washington permanently closed this important diplomatic center on the Afghan border under the pretext of cost savings.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing NBC News, the US State Department informed the country’s Congress that it intends to close the Washington Consulate in Peshawar, Pakistan.

NBC News declared the US Consulate in Peshawar, due to its proximity to the Afghan border, to be Washington’s most important diplomatic hub for operations in Afghanistan since 2001.

The US State Department has cited cost-cutting as an excuse for closing this important diplomatic center in Central Asia, even though the consulate was attacked by Pakistani protesters after the US and Zionist regime invaded Iranian territory.

After Pakistani protesters attacked the US consulate in Peshawar, the center’s activities were suspended.

The US Consulate in Peshawar was one of the important centers providing services and support to Afghans who worked with the US and NATO.
