FBI claims Chinese hackers infiltrated several prominent American law firms

According to the department, the American spy agency has repeatedly used stolen login information to infiltrate computers at China’s National Time Center since April 18, 2023.

The accusations come after Western governments and companies have repeatedly claimed in recent years that Chinese hackers have launched cyber-attacks on their computer systems, and at a time when trade tensions between Washington and Beijing have escalated.

The National Time Center of China, located in the northwestern city of Xi’an, is a key research institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, responsible for regulating, maintaining, and disseminating the country’s standard time.

Chinese national security officials said investigations showed that private servers around the world were used to hide the origin of the attacks. The statement also stressed that Beijing had taken preventive measures and measures at the center to counter cyber-attacks.
