Hours later, the Venezuelan government said in a statement that the planes had been spotted 75 kilometers off the country’s coastline. Padrino added that the planes were F-35s, flying at a speed of 400 knots and at an altitude of 35,000 feet.
According to him, these fighter jets were detected by air defense systems in the Maiktia flight information zone. The US Department of War has not yet responded to this.
News sources announced on Friday that the Venezuelan military has deployed S-125 air defense systems in various parts of the country in response to growing threats from the United States. The move is aimed at strengthening defense capabilities against possible US air strikes.
