US foreign aid suspended for 90 days by Trump order.
According to The Hill, the new US President Donald Trump has issued an executive order suspending all foreign aid for three months.
The order was issued to assess the compliance of the programs with US foreign policy. The said order follows another executive order issued by which the US Secretary of State is instructed to implement an “America First foreign policy”; although the details of this policy have not been specified!
The said order stipulates that the Office of Management and Budget “implement a temporary suspension of foreign aid.”
The order also includes a clause for the US Secretary of State, according to which he can not implement the order in some “specific” development programs. In addition, if the Secretary of State, in cooperation and consultation with the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, decides, the aid can be resumed earlier than 90 days.
