US judge stands against Trump.
A federal judge has temporarily lifted the government’s ban on foreign students at Harvard University, the newspaper reported.
U.S. District Judge Alison DeBurrows has temporarily suspended President Donald Trump’s order pending further review of the case.
The judge said Trump’s order to ban foreign nationals from entering the United States for six months to study at Harvard without a court review would cause “immediate and irreparable harm.”
Trump had previously cited national security concerns as justification for banning international students from studying at the University of Cambridge, Massachusetts. The suspension will initially be for six months but could be extended, Trump said. Trump also ordered the State Department to review the student or exchange visas of any current Harvard students.
