US media: Israel seeks to use agreement with Lebanon to revive talks with Hamas.
The Washington Post newspaper, citing an informed official, said: “Members of the Israeli government are trying to use the agreement with Lebanon to revive negotiations with Hamas.”
The informed official, who was not named, added: “Israeli officials are considering a short-term agreement to release several hostages, in the hope that this agreement can be expanded in the future.”
The Washington Post also reported, citing Israeli officials, that the mentality is to go to Hamas itself because it is alone now and must sign an agreement to exchange prisoners.
The Zionist officials’ illusion of a short-term agreement comes at a time when Hamas leaders have consistently rejected any short-term agreement with Israel and have declared that stopping the aggression on Gaza and implementing a complete ceasefire are prerequisites for any agreement with Tel Aviv.
