The US deployed 10 advanced F-35 fighter jets to Puerto Rico in early September. Meanwhile, images released by the Pentagon showed a B-52 bomber flying over the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, which is deployed to the Caribbean along with several other destroyers and warships.
These military moves have been met with a response from Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who warned in a recent speech that Washington was trying to turn Venezuela into a “Yankee colony.”
Meanwhile, informed sources have reported that Donald Trump has held several meetings with senior administration and military officials in the past few days about military options against Venezuela, including ground attacks.
