PNN – More than 12 MQ-9 Reaper unmanned drones have been destroyed following the US and Israeli aggression against Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, ABC News quoted two Americans as saying that more than 12 MQ-9 Reaper unmanned drones were lost following the US and Israeli aggression against Iran.
The American media outlet stated: These Reaper drones were either shot down by Iranian missiles or destroyed by fire.
According to the report, Reaper drones can be used as reconnaissance aircraft, but are also equipped with Hellfire missiles, which are used to engage targets.
The American media added: The loss of this number of Reaper drones indicates how many of these key unmanned aircraft are active in US operations against Iran.
The US Air Force announced the last five-year contract to purchase Reaper drones in 2020, and General Atomics, its manufacturer, closed the production line last year after producing 575 drones.
According to General Atomics spokesman Mark Brinkley, the latest shipment of drones was purchased in packages of four, costing about $16 million each.
