The U.S. Secretary of State stated that the Rapid Support Forces are not adhering to their commitments and that arms supplies to them must be prevented.
He added that pressure will be applied to countries supporting the Rapid Support Forces to halt the delivery of weapons to these forces.
Rubio said that violations by the Rapid Support Forces are organized, and claims that such actions are carried out by unorganized elements are incorrect.
He also stated that the Rapid Support Forces have committed crimes against civilians, including sexual assaults against women.
In another part of his remarks, Rubio addressed Venezuela, claiming that Nicolás Maduro’s government is a terrorist military regime linked to drugs, and that former President Trump will take all necessary actions to ensure U.S. security.
In response, Maduro stated that campaigns are underway to tarnish the image of Venezuela and its revolution, which he said is the same work that U.S. imperialism and intelligence agencies have carried out in the past and continue to do today.
