The US seeks to investigate details of leaked secret Yemen attack conversation on Signal.
According to Al Jazeera Qatar, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz announced that an investigation is underway into how the editor of The Atlantic magazine accessed a confidential conversation on the Signal messenger.
He added: We are investigating how this reporter accessed the confidential conversation.
Waltz continued: Our teams are carefully reviewing the security features of the Signal messenger.
The US National Security Advisor claimed: No classified information was transmitted via Signal and that the National Security Council remains strong.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump defended Waltz a few minutes ago, saying: We have a great team, and our National Security Council is powerful.
He added: There are reviews of communication security and the possibility of information leaks.
Trump added: Signal is being reviewed, but we will probably not use this messenger again.
US House Democrats: We Will Summon Secretary of Defense
On the other hand, in response to the security and intelligence scandal in the Trump administration, Democratic members of the US House of Representatives announced that they will take steps to summon the country’s Secretary of Defense to the Senate to explain the scandal of revealing secret plans to attack the Houthis [Ansar Allah] via the Signal messenger.
