US Supreme Court upholds TikTok ban.
According to Al-Hurra, the US Supreme Court today approved a law that bans TikTok in the country.
With this measure, 170 million users will not be able to use the app’s services from January 19. The US Supreme Court claimed that this measure does not violate freedom of speech and that the US government has legitimate national security and security concerns regarding the use of this Chinese app.
It was also announced that the providers of this app will be fined from January 19 onwards.
This is while legal communities in the US consider the aforementioned law to be in line with the violation of freedom of speech. This law was passed by the country’s Congress in April 2024 at the height of strategic differences between the US and China.
