PNN – A US military spokesman announced that the number of US troops killed and wounded during the war with Iran has exceeded 200.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Washington Post, a US military official announced that the casualties of American forces during the conflict with Iran have reached more than 200 soldiers, and these casualties have been recorded in seven countries in the region.

Capt. Tim Hawkins, a senior spokesman for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), said U.S. forces in Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates had been injured. He added that some of the cases were being reported recently because symptoms of some traumatic brain injuries are delayed.

Hawkins also announced that the number of seriously injured has increased to 10 after the injuries of two soldiers who were wounded in the early days of the war were reclassified.

The announcement comes after Sean Parnell, the Pentagon’s top spokesman, said last week that more than 140 American soldiers had been wounded, most of whom had returned to duty.

Meanwhile, seven American service members have been killed in Iranian attacks, including six in a drone strike that targeted a tactical operations center in Bandar al-Shuaiba, Kuwait, on February 28. Another service member died from injuries sustained in an attack on Amir Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.

Also last week, six other soldiers were killed in the crash of a KC-135 tanker plane in Iraq.
