PNN – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, “Anthony Blinken”, called the US Secretary of State a “failed” politician and a “promoter and defender of fascism” for repeatedly supporting the former candidate of the Caracas government opposition in the presidential elections.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Efe news agency, “Ivan Khel”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, emphasized by publishing a message through his official channel in the Telegram messenger: Mr. Blinken, promoter and defender of fascism in Venezuela, your words are not surprising; Words from a government official on the verge of leaving power and deeply defeated, which will be recorded in history as one of the most incompetent and destructive governments in the field of US foreign policy.
Khel added: the desperation of the Secretary of State [US] leads him to support the worst opposition that Venezuela has had in the last 25 years; a disjointed, terrorist, leadershipless and popular opposition that has been complicit in every failure the United States has suffered in trying to destabilize Venezuela.
At the end of this text, it is said: For four years, they have repeatedly failed in their plans against Venezuela, and this time will be no different. Our people and government continue to move forward with dignity in building an independent country and defeating the adversities that you [US government] have tried to impose on them.
Ignoring the announcement of the victory of Nicolás Maduro in the presidential elections of Venezuela by the official institutions of the country, the US State Department announced Blinken’s telephone conversation with “Edmundo González, the president-elect” of this country. In this regard, “Blinken emphasized the commitment of the United States to support the will of the Venezuelan people expressed at the ballot box, the peaceful restoration of democracy in Venezuela and the release of all political prisoners who have been unjustly detained.”

Earlier, Ivan Khel called the US Secretary of State a “known enemy of Venezuela” and criticized him for repeating what happened in 2019 and recognizing Juan Guaidó as the interim president of Venezuela.
After Maduro’s victory in the Venezuelan presidential election, the results announced by the opposition were rejected, and the international supporters of this far-right trend, including the United States and Western powers, also reacted strongly.
In this way, the United States questioned the results and supported the violent protests of the right-wing supporters of Edmundo Gonzalez, the former government opposition candidate, against the election results.
In 2019, the United States and its allies recognized Juan Guaidó, who in January 2019 announced himself as the “interim president” of Venezuela.
Guaidó’s operation was carried out with the support of former US President Donald Trump (2017-2021) and the Organization of American States (OAS), which sought to legitimize this opposition politician.
Gonzalez left Venezuela for Spain last September and is currently in this country.
