He explained that these decisions were taken following a meeting with senior government officials. Maduro noted that recent U.S. military movements in the Caribbean Sea pose a threat to Venezuela, and that these developments have become one of the main drivers behind his country’s expanded defense investment.

In accordance with this goal, Venezuela plans to implement the “2026 Plan,” designed to enhance national capabilities in security and defense, communication policies, and social organization.

Meanwhile, Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López stated that the threats Venezuela has recently faced have pushed the country toward developing new strategies and restructuring internal paramilitary forces.

He added that Venezuela’s naval forces are increasing their readiness and vigilance each day and are fully prepared to respond to any potential attack targeting the country.

Recently, Washington announced the deployment of U.S. warships and a submarine to Venezuelan waters. U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also declared that the U.S. military is ready for an operation aimed at regime change in Venezuela.

In response, Maduro announced the mobilization of 4.5 million Venezuelan citizens nationwide, declaring that the country is prepared to counter any possible aggression.
