Venezuela’s Attorney General: US government responsible for Maduro and his wife’s security

PNN – The Attorney General of Venezuela stated that he holds the U.S. government responsible for the safety of Maduro and his wife.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Mayadeen, Tarek Saab, the Attorney General of Venezuela, condemned the kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro, the President of this country, and demanded his release.

The Attorney General of Venezuela stated that he holds the U.S. government responsible for the safety of Maduro and his wife.

Saab referred to the overthrow and temporary arrest of Hugo Chavez in April 2002 and his return to power, describing it as a decisive moment in Venezuela’s political history.

He asked government officials and prosecutors in Venezuela to document the widespread human rights violations in the American operation and directly called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to take action.

The Attorney General of Venezuela said: I ask the United Nations at this moment to speak out. Where are the international human rights institutions to react to this cowardly operation which has taken the lives of the innocent and kidnapped the President and his wife?

Saab also asked the people to maintain their calm and vigilance against the spread of fake news.

These statements came after Trump announced that the U.S. had successfully carried out a widespread attack against Venezuela and claimed that Maduro and his wife had been arrested and transferred out of the country.

Caracas has stated that the goal of Washington’s actions is to establish a puppet government and gain control over Venezuela’s oil resources.
