PNN – In an interview with the American network NBC, Delcy Rodriguez announced Washington’s invitation to him and called Nicolas Maduro innocent and the legitimate president of his country.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the NBC website quoted the interim president of Venezuela as saying: Nicolas Maduro is the legitimate president. I tell you this as a lawyer. Both President Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores are innocent.

She added: I have been invited to the United States. We are considering a trip to the United States after establishing cooperation and progress in all matters.

NBC’s website wrote that Rodriguez told her country about the timing or even the possibility of the smooth return of Maria Corina Machado, the most prominent figure in the Venezuelan opposition: I don’t understand why there is such a controversy about him. He should be accountable to Venezuela. Why did he call for military intervention? Why did he call for sanctions on Venezuela? Why did he celebrate the actions that took place in early January (the kidnapping of Maduro)?

Earlier, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, who was the first senior US official to visit Caracas after Maduro’s kidnapping, claimed “freedom for the Venezuelan people and economy” and announced that the sanctions still lacked any timetable for lifting.

The US Secretary of Energy, the first senior American official to arrive in Caracas since the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, met with the country’s acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, and stated that Washington “wants to see a flood of investment” in Venezuela.

Stating that we are conducting a broad review of the possibility of commercial activities, she added: Washington will not provide any security or financial guarantees for American companies in this South American country.

Following the attacks on Venezuelan soil by American forces on Saturday morning (January 3), US President Donald Trump announced the kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro and his wife and their transfer to the United States.

Venezuela’s Supreme Constitutional Court then ruled that Delcy Rodriguez would assume the interim presidency of Venezuela.
