Voting on draft resolution on Gaza ceasefire on the Security Council table.
Diplomatic sources, speaking to Al-Mayadeen this morning, announced that the Security Council is scheduled to vote at 5:00 PM Jerusalem time on a draft resolution calling for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
According to these sources, the draft calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners and the cessation of starvation for the Palestinians.
The draft emphasizes the need to immediately send humanitarian aid to Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip, especially those living in the northern part of the strip.
Despite the US request, the draft does not include a direct condemnation of Hamas. The draft also does not include the US request to establish a permanent mechanism to investigate Tel Aviv’s claims that its agency’s employees have ties to Hamas.
