Wafiq Safa’s reaction to news about the disarmament of Lebanese Hezbollah.
According to the newsletter, Wafiq Safa, head of Hezbollah’s communications and coordination department, said: “Talk about disarmament is only in the media and among the instigators. The discussion of disarmament is only on social networks and by the instigators. There is no such word as disarmament, and what Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has spoken about is a defensive strategy.”
He clarified: “Talking about a defensive strategy depends on the Zionist regime’s withdrawal in the first place, and then the release of prisoners, the cessation of attacks, and the implementation of Resolution 1701. A defensive strategy is a defensive strategy of supporting Lebanon, not Hezbollah, handing over its weapons.”
He called for equipping the Lebanese army instead of demanding that Hezbollah hand over its weapons, saying: “The region is boiling. I say to the supporters of the resistance, do not be influenced by the rhetoric you hear. No force can disarm Hezbollah. Who wants to disarm Hezbollah? Can it? Israel could not do this. No one can defeat Hezbollah because it relies on the power of God.
