Wall Street Journal’s claim about the new US offer to Iran

PNN – An American newspaper on Thursday claimed that the American team was preparing to present a new proposal to Iran in the negotiations.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Wall Street Journal, citing a senior American official, claimed that Washington is preparing a “term sheet” to present to Iran. The proposal includes a complete halt to Iran’s uranium enrichment.

The American official warned: If Iran does not accept these conditions, it will not be a good day for the Iranians.

The nuclear talks between Iran and the United States have entered a critical phase. According to recent reports, five rounds of indirect talks have been held, mediated by Oman, and in some cases in Rome.

The main focus of these negotiations is Iran’s nuclear program, particularly uranium enrichment, and efforts to reach a lasting agreement that addresses concerns about Iran’s nuclear program while recognizing Iran’s rights to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and lifting sanctions.

Uranium enrichment is one of the main points of contention in the Iran-US talks. Iran insists that it has the right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes under the NPT.

Western officials, however, claim that Iran, as a country that does not possess nuclear weapons, does not need to conduct domestic enrichment within the country.

Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, has pointed out that countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, South Korea, Brazil, and Japan are also enriching uranium without having nuclear weapons.
