Warning of more than 100 British lawmakers about the diplomatic consequences of the Gaza war on relations with Israel

PNN – In addition to 100 British legislators from different political parties, in a joint letter addressed to Foreign Minister David Cameron, referring to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the violation of international humanitarian laws in this regard, they demanded a review of diplomatic relations with the Zionist regime.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in this letter, which was signed by 115 members of the British House of Commons, it is stated: Gaza is on the brink of famine. The situation is so dire that a famine has probably occurred in northern Gaza. To date, 27 children and 3 adults have died of starvation and dehydration in this area.

The letter adds: In northern Gaza, 70 percent of the population is facing the most severe level of food shortage and has resorted to eating bird seed, animal feed and grass. They have also resorted to digging in the ground to access water pipes for drinking and washing.

The authors of the letter reminded: On February 13, 2024, you announced that if Israel opposes the entry of water and food into Gaza, it has violated international humanitarian law. Given that Israel has refused to change its approach and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has not abated, the UK must demonstrate that the continuation of this situation faces diplomatic consequences.

Accordingly, they called for the resumption of British financial aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) so that the organization “continues the life-saving work that is now more vital than ever, especially in light of famine and hunger.”

British legislators emphasized: Ask Israel not to use starvation as a weapon of war in accordance with international humanitarian law. Also set a deadline of a few weeks, preferably days, for Israel to comply with ICJ orders, including facilitating full access to humanitarian aid, or face serious consequences for UK-Israel relations.

This is the second time in the past week that the representatives of the British House of Commons in a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country demanded to increase the pressure against the Zionist regime. 134 members of the House of Commons and Lords of England called for an arms embargo on Israel in a joint letter.

Of course, it is said that the British Foreign Minister has warned the Zionist regime that if it does not allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza and does not obey international laws, the arms cooperation with this regime will be stopped.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Cameron has told Israeli officials in recent talks that “arms embargoes” may be imposed if Hamas prisoners in Israel (Occupied Palestine) are denied access to meet with the Red Cross.

During the last 6 months, the Zionist regime has launched a massive massacre in Gaza. This regime has closed all crossings in the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area.

The United Nations Security Council approved a resolution in support of an immediate ceasefire in this area. In this resolution, all parties are asked to respect the immediate cessation of conflicts in the month of Ramadan, but the occupation regime’s crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people are still continuing despite the approval of this resolution.

According to reports, more than 32,000 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 74,000 others have been injured.
