PNN – Medical sources in Gaza have reported a widespread outbreak of infectious diseases among displaced people, stating that illnesses such as cholera and polio are spreading at an alarming rate.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Bassam Zaqout, head of Gaza’s Medical Relief Organization, warned in an interview with Al Jazeera about the extensive spread of diseases among displaced residents in Gaza.

He reported a widespread outbreak of infectious diseases among the displaced and said that illnesses such as cholera and polio are spreading in a worrying manner.
Emphasizing the severe shortage of medical facilities and equipment, Bassam Zaqout stressed that these shortages pose a serious obstacle to confronting the growing spread of diseases.
He also stated that the Zionist regime is preventing the entry of even the most basic medical supplies and equipment into the Gaza Strip, a situation that has pushed health and medical conditions into a critical stage.
This comes as, amid continued violations of the ceasefire and artillery shelling by the occupying Zionist regime’s army on eastern Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, three Palestinians, including a woman, were killed.
