Washington: America’s goal is not to escalate tensions in the Red Sea.
The head of the joint staff of the American armed forces claimed that the goal of the United States in the Red Sea was to create deterrence against the forces supported by Iran.

General Charles CQ Brown, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Army, claimed that Washington is not looking for tension in the Red Sea, stating that the country’s goal is to create a deterrent against the activities of the Yemeni Houthis supported by Iran.

According to “ABC News”, Brown has stated that the retaliatory attacks against Iran-backed Yemeni army forces in the Red Sea are aimed at preventing future conflicts, and the United States does not want to escalate tensions in this region.

Brown’s claims came as the Yemenis launched new attacks on the coast of Yemen on Friday, launching anti-ship ballistic missiles in two separate attacks. An action that led to a missile hitting a British tanker in the Gulf of Aden and setting it on fire.

The ABC reporter asked Brown about the criticism raised by some critics that the Biden administration was not and is not tough enough against these militias or Iran. In response to this question, Brown stated: I ask them, what do they want from these conflicts? A wider conflict? Do they want us to go to full-scale war?

As Joe Biden’s senior military advisor, he claimed: Our goal is not to escalate tensions in the Red Sea. Our goal is to create deterrence while protecting and caring for American forces.

Brown continued talking to the ABC News reporter and said: “We have to think carefully about our approach in these areas, and we cannot accurately predict how each of these groups will respond to our actions. Therefore, our goal is to protect our partners and allies and control these forces as much as possible.

Brown stated clearly: “We do not want to go down the path of escalating tensions that will lead to a wider conflict in the region.”

On the other hand, some American legislators, such as Mitch McConnell, the leader of the Republican Senate, and Mike Johnson, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, have welcomed the US-led attacks in the region and believe that although these attacks are late, they are very necessary.

Since the beginning of autumn, the forces of the Yemeni army have carried out more than 30 attacks against the United States and England in the course of supporting the actions of the Zionist regime in the Gaza war.
