PNN – An American newspaper pointed to the inability of the Israeli army to completely occupy the Gaza Strip and Netanyahu’s withdrawal from fully implementing this plan.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Siasa, the Washington Post newspaper reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has backed away from his previous plan to completely occupy the Gaza Strip and has settled for a plan to expand the scope of the occupation of the Gaza Strip by 10 percent at the current stage.

Informed sources said that this gradual process would require half the forces needed to completely occupy the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military offensive will begin gradually next September after expelling nearly a million Palestinian refugees.

The Washington Post added that this represents Netanyahu’s retreat from his previous decision, and this action has angered his right-wing allies because it shows that the commanders of the Israeli army still have more power over Netanyahu.

The Israeli regime’s security agencies have forced Netanyahu to reduce the scope of the plan to occupy the Gaza Strip.

Al Jazeera’s website also wrote: Netanyahu was forced to back down from the plan to completely occupy the Gaza Strip due to the opposition of Eyal Zamir, the chief of staff of the Tel Aviv army. It seems that the Israeli army is much weaker than others think.
