Washington Post: The lack of recognition of Yahya Senwar was one of the reasons for Israel’s defeat in the war

PNN – The Washington Post, in a report quoting officials of the Zionist regime, emphasized that one of the reasons for the failure in the war was the lack of recognition of Yahya Senwar, the former leader of Hamas.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Washington Post newspaper wrote in a report about the Israeli army’s investigation into the failure of the October 7 operation that the military investigation shows that Hamas’ capabilities were underestimated before this attack.

According to this report, the Zionist officers held a meeting hours before the October 7 attack, after observing alarming signs.

According to the Washington Post, the Zionist officers had concluded that there was no imminent danger and failed to anticipate the attack.

The Washington Post continued this report and added that this failure was due to a lack of information and wrong and poor planning.

In this report, this newspaper, quoting the officials of the Zionist regime’s army, stressed that one of the reasons for the failure was the lack of recognition of Yahya Senwar, the former leader of Hamas; because the Israeli officials emphasized that the army believed that Senwar was seeking financial concessions from Israel for the administration of Gaza and not war.

The Washington Post further quoted a Zionist military official and added that no Israeli official was even able to imagine what happened.

According to the Washington Post, this Zionist official emphasized that our assessment was that Hamas was not interested in war and was not capable of carrying out such an attack.

The Washington Post further quoted the military officials of the Zionist regime and added that our main conclusion is that we should not allow the enemies to gather their forces near our borders.

The Zionist regime, with the support of the United States, launched a devastating war against the residents of the Gaza Strip from October 7, 2023 to January 19, 2025, but it did not achieve its goals of destroying the Hamas movement and returning Israeli prisoners of war, and was forced to agree to a ceasefire with this movement.

On January 19, 2025, the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between the Zionist regime and Hamas was implemented, which included three phases, each phase lasting 42 days.

The provisions of the first phase of this agreement include the gradual release of 33 Zionist prisoners held in Gaza in exchange for the release of a number of Palestinian and Arab prisoners, whose number is estimated between 1,700 and 2,000.
