PNN – “Xinhua” news agency reported that America’s accusations and false narratives about the Xinjiang Autonomous Region and its false reports on the issue of human rights in this region have cost American taxpayers millions of dollars.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, this Chinese media stated this introduction and wrote: Washington wastes millions of tax dollars annually on false narratives about the Xinjiang Autonomous Region and China’s Uyghurs.
“If Washington continues its costly offensive against Xinjiang, it will only result in more US tax dollars being wasted on a futile cause,” Xinhua news agency stated.
According to the report, as many foreign vloggers have shown during their travels to various locations in Xinjiang, the local community in the region is as prosperous as it is stable and harmonious.

With a population of 25.8 million, Xinjiang is expected to receive 265 million domestic and foreign tourists in 2023, generating 296.7 billion yuan [about 42 billion US dollars] in tourism revenue for the region, which is double the amount that Hawaii gained more visitors in the same year.
According to the report, “the booming tourism sector is just one aspect of Xinjiang’s dynamic social and economic development, which is taking place in opposition to the intense smear campaign that the US has waged against the autonomous region at the expense of American taxpayers.”
In a move widely seen as part of Washington’s machinations, former US Secretary of State Colin Powell’s chief of staff, Lawrence Wilkerson, in a speech in 2018 hinted at using the Uyghur Autonomous Region to destabilize China.
“Xinhua” news agency added: In recent years, in an effort to contain China, the United States has launched an accusation campaign against Xinjiang. Baseless accusations such as forced labor, oppression of minorities and even genocide, which are nothing but the subject of laughter, but Washington spends millions of tax dollars every year on these accusations and false narratives in line with the goals that are obvious to everyone.
An independent expert of the United Nations recently said, referring to the US sanctions against Xinjiang: Unilateral sanctions should not be used as a tool of foreign policy and expression for economic pressure.
He stated that US sanctions against China’s Xinjiang had nothing to do with alleged human rights concerns, adding that their goal was to destroy Xinjiang’s economy, create widespread unemployment and undermine social stability.
