Washington’s continued hostile policy against Iran, insisting on tightening oil sanctions

PNN – The US State Department spokesperson once again emphasized the Trump administration’s determination to reduce Iran’s oil exports to zero, in line with Washington’s continued hostile policies against Tehran.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, During a press conference yesterday, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce referred to the sanctions on a Chinese refinery for purchasing millions of barrels of oil worth almost half a billion dollars from Iran, and went on to describe the sanctions on several other entities and ships in Iran’s shadow fleet for sending millions of barrels of Iranian oil to China, claiming: Iran’s behavior around the world threatens U.S. national security interests. President Trump has reinstated a maximum pressure campaign designed to end Iran’s nuclear threat, limit its ballistic missile program, and prevent its support for terrorist groups.

According to the US State Department official, “the maximum pressure campaign is designed to reduce Iran’s oil exports, which it uses to finance its destabilizing activities, to zero, including oil exports to China.”

Meanwhile, in response to new US sanctions against Chinese companies, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman called for an end to Washington’s interference in Beijing-Tehran economic cooperation.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning announced that Beijing has always opposed the abuse of illegal unilateral sanctions and cross-border jurisdiction and has called on Washington to stop interfering in and undermining normal trade and economic cooperation between China and Iran.

These statements came as the United States imposed sanctions on an oil refinery in Shandong province in eastern China and an oil terminal in Guangdong province in the south of the country on March 20, under the pretext of importing oil from Iran.

He also stressed that Beijing will take all necessary measures to resolutely protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
