Wearing the burqa will be banned in Switzerland.
According to Sputnik, the Swiss government is considering banning the wearing of the burqa in the country.
According to media reports, the ban on wearing the burqa in Switzerland will be enforced with a fine of up to $1,110.
Reports indicate that from January 1, 2025, Switzerland has banned the wearing of face-covering clothing, including the niqab, and burqa in public places and has set a fine to ensure its enforcement.
The new law was introduced following a 2021 referendum in which 51.2% of voters supported the measure.
France, Austria, Belgium, and Denmark have previously imposed similar bans on the wearing of the face veil.
