What do we know about Israel’s new military-security policy?
The Al-Aqsa storm ended the myth of the effectiveness of the “Ben-Gurion” doctrine among the commanders and military strategists of the Zionist regime. Before the 7th of October, the Zionists tried to attack their enemies and weaken them by keeping a small army and using the principle of surprise. In this strategy, due to the lack of “strategic depth” and “limited geography”, Israel cannot defeat its enemies completely and can only push them back and live in relative security for a few years. Another principle emphasized in the “Ben-Gurion” doctrine was the war outside the boundaries of the large cities of occupied Palestine and the battle in the enemy’s territory.
The myth of destroying Hamas
Israel’s security-military defeat of a resistance group that lives in the fence of the Gaza Strip has caused the collapse of the regime authorities’ analytical apparatus to define the concept of deterrence in the occupied territories. The experience of the last 11 months has shown that the “Ben-Gurion” doctrine can no longer survive and a new strategy must be created to deal with external threats and at the same time restore the balance against the axis of resistance.
It was in the early days of the war that Netanyahu, Gallant, and Gantz unveiled a new strategy in which the destruction of the political-military infrastructure of the Hamas movement in Gaza was predicted, but the realities on the ground showed that the Zionist regime cannot destroy a popular movement rooted in thought and belief. It is going to destroy the people of Gaza completely. Recently, the news channel “C. NN” reflected the fact that Ezzeddin al-Qassam has managed to rebuild some of his combat battalions and put them into the operational cycle by using the people’s capacities. In such a situation, the main question among the leaders of the regime is what policy should Tel Aviv adopt to deal with the threat of the resistance axis.
