Where does Hamas get weapons from?

The “ceasefire” in its most minimal form means that the Zionist regime has not achieved the goals it had outlined at the beginning of the war; because if it had, there should not have been a Hamas with which to form an agreement. But both Hamas and all the Zionist prisoners are still standing and all the Zionist prisoners are probably being held in Gaza.

The ceasefire once again showed that resistance, however small and popular, has the power to stand up to a regime and its NATO allies. But what will happen after this? How will Hamas be able to fight the enemy again and whether there are any weapons left for this group? To understand this issue, we must go back to the past and answer the question of how Hamas met its weapons needs before October 7th. In this report, we will look at some of the ways through which Hamas was able to access weapons. This group certainly has much wider routes than what is mentioned in this text, which may never be revealed.

No group in the world has been as besieged as Hamas in Gaza. Israel surrounds the Gaza Strip on both sides and is also surrounded by Egypt. The Israeli navy is constantly patrolling the 12-mile-wide area in the Mediterranean Sea and controls the movement of people.

In such a situation, where Gaza is surrounded by land, sea and air, Hamas has been able to surprise the Zionist enemy by having a significant amount of light weapons, including homemade rockets and missiles, mortars and other explosives in its arsenal. In addition, having anti-tank guided missiles and shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles has placed this group among the most equipped guerrilla armies in the world. According to The Cipher Brief, a website focused on intelligence, national security and international affairs, Hamas has amassed a large number of Russian-made laser-guided anti-tank missiles called Kornets. But how did these various weapons end up in Hamas’ hands?

1- Before 2007, when the Zionist regime imposed the most severe form of siege on Gaza, the resistance used materials such as fertilizer and powdered sugar to make rockets, which are not as powerful as military explosives. However, the regime severely restricted the import of goods, including dual-use electronic and computer equipment, limiting, allowing Hamas to be creative in acquiring weapons.
