PNN – Several countries, some of them European, have expressed their readiness to recognize the state of Palestine at the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly, which will be held next September.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Russia Today, several countries, some of them European, announced their readiness to recognize the state of Palestine at the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is scheduled to be held next September, at the end of a conference on Palestine chaired by France and Saudi Arabia in New York.

The joint statement of the foreign ministers of these countries stated that recognizing the state of Palestine is an important step towards realizing the “two-state” solution, and they called on other countries in the world that have not yet recognized Palestine to join this movement.
Of these countries, nine, including Australia, Canada, Finland, New Zealand, Portugal, Andorra, Malta, San Marino, and Luxembourg, announced their intention to recognize the State of Palestine for the first time, and the remaining countries, such as Iceland, Ireland, and Spain, which had previously recognized the State of Palestine, emphasized their continued movement in this direction.
Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela announced in a separate statement that his country would officially recognize Palestine.
He stressed Malta’s commitment to supporting a comprehensive political solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Previously, France and Britain had also announced their desire to officially recognize the state of Palestine.
