Polls also show that Republican voters are happy with his performance. A September YouGov poll found that Vance is at the top of the list of candidates Republicans are likely to vote for in 2028.
Vance could have a long political future, according to a Washington Post analyst, as he is the youngest candidate on the list at 41 and one of the youngest vice presidents in American history.

Trump’s Secretary of State has been a major figure in international news, from the Gaza peace talks to the controversial foreign aid cuts. Although he is not at the top of the list of voters in early 2028 polls, Trump has repeatedly mentioned him as a potential successor.
Trump once told reporters on Air Force One: “Marco is great. I’m not sure anyone can stand up to those two (Vance and Rubio). If they team up, they’d be unbeatable.”
