Why did Mahmoud Abbas abandon his trip to Saudi Arabia?

According to Al-Qaira Al-Akhbariya, Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, abandoned his trip to Saudi Arabia after the Zionist military attack on the northern cities of the West Bank.

Following the occupation army’s attack on the north of the West Bank, as a result of which twenty Palestinians have been martyred, he left his trip halfway and returned to Ramallah.

This is while Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, consulted with Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh about the process of ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.

In this meeting, the parties discussed and evaluated the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian land and regional and international efforts to stop the attacks of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Mahmoud Abbas warned about the dangerous consequences of provocative statements and actions of the Zionist authorities regarding the holy places of Muslims and Christians in Palestine, especially the decision of Itamar Ben Guer, the Minister of Internal Security of the Zionist regime, to build a synagogue in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Emphasizing that Saudi Arabia’s position in supporting the Palestinian cause has not changed, Bin Salman said: that an immediate ceasefire must be established in the Gaza Strip.

The Saudi Crown Prince emphasized Saudi Arabia’s support for the Palestinian nation and said that Riyadh will do its best to stop the war in Gaza.
