Why did Netanyahu change the name of the Gaza war?

change the name

PNN – The Zionist newspaper Haaretz ridiculed Netanyahu’s move to change the name of the Gaza war after two years, writing that he can change the name of the war as he wants, but he cannot change its nature.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Quds News Agency, the Zionist newspaper Haaretz wrote in an article that the decision of the Israeli cabinet to hold its first meeting after the ceasefire in Gaza, focusing on “changing the name of the war,” indicates the continuation of the battle of narratives and the distance of the Israeli leaders from the realities on the ground in the war.

Zionist writer Yossi Werther added that the cabinet meeting to change the name of the Gaza War from “Iron Swords” to “War of Resurrection” is a new attempt to portray defeated individuals as heroes and position a major defeat as a “national resurrection.”

He considered the purpose of this name change to be to erase the memory of the greatest defeat in the history of the Zionist regime, adding: It is easier for him to change the name of the war than to face its consequences.

Political analysts: Netanyahu has no desire to implement the second phase of the ceasefire.

The author, noting that this action is taking place two years after the start of the war, added that this is while more than 100,000 Zionists are still displaced from their homes and the bodies of the prisoners are in the hands of Hamas.

Pointing out that the continuation of the war served Netanyahu’s personal interests; he added that Netanyahu is trying to replace the word “catastrophe” with the word “resurrection,” as if words can dispel public anger.

Werther noted that captives who could have been returned long ago were left in the tunnels because Netanyahu did not want to end the war, and tens of thousands of refugees did not receive the necessary support, while the cabinet was busy playing its media games.

Haaretz saw the name change as a strategy to delay Netanyahu’s accountability, adding that Netanyahu knows that the investigative committee will eventually get to him, so he prefers to talk about words rather than decisions.

He mocked Netanyahu, noting that the Netanyahu government’s methods of “shirking responsibility” were worthy of being taught in textbooks on dictatorial regimes.

Werther also revealed that Netanyahu is a loser even in the international narrative. The word “betrayal” is on the lips of millions of Israelis today, and they have come to realize that the Gaza war was the result of “negligence,” not a defensive war.

Haaretz concluded its article by stating that Netanyahu can change the name of the war as he wishes, but he cannot change its nature, and that this war will remain a “war of neglect.”
